Madhya Pradesh: Police stated on Thursday that an individual was arrested in the Chandan Nagar area while allegedly transporting MD drugs worth ₹4.3 lakh.
According to the police, a team was conducting a checking drive and patrolling the area when they spotted a suspicious individual near the gate of a township in Chandan Nagar. Upon seeing the police, he attempted to flee, but the team surrounded and apprehended him.
During interrogation, the suspect identified himself as Mohsin Pathan, a resident of the city’s Khajrana area. A search conducted on his person yielded 43 grams of MD drugs. The value of the seized drugs is estimated to be approximately ₹4.3 lakh in the international market.
The suspect allegedly admitted that he would purchase the drugs at a low price and sell them to customers within the city at inflated rates. The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act, and further investigations are underway. The suspect is currently being interrogated to trace the source of the drugs. Separately, an officer stated on Thursday that the city’s Crime Branch arrested an individual for allegedly illegally transporting ganja (cannabis) worth ₹1 lakh.
According to DCP Rajesh Dandotiya, a team was on the lookout for suspicious individuals across various localities when they spotted a man near a cement warehouse in Laxmibai Nagar. He was stopped and questioned, whereupon he identified himself as Karan Kewat.
During a search, the police discovered a black bag on his two-wheeler containing approximately 10.6 kilograms of ganja. The value of the seized drugs is estimated to be approximately ₹1 lakh in the international market. During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed that he would procure the drugs at a low cost and sell them within the city at higher prices.
The police have seized the ganja, a mobile phone, and the two-wheeler; the total estimated value of the seized items exceeds ₹2 lakh. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the suspect has been placed under arrest. Further investigation is underway.
