Madhya Pradesh: Late Tuesday night, some unknown miscreants set fire to four vehicles behind the house of BJP councilor Pranav Mandal near Bengali Square. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when people noticed smoke rising from parked vehicles. People doused the fire by pouring water from a nearby borewell. A motorcycle and a scooter were badly damaged, while the other vehicles were saved in time. People suspect local drug addicts were responsible for the incident, as they frequently gather in the area and had been warned in advance. Officers from the Tilak Nagar police station arrived at the scene and checked CCTV footage in the area. CCTV footage showed some suspects, but they had not been identified at the time of filing this report.
Late Tuesday night, garbage stored near the elevator of a multi-story building in the Bhanwarkuan area caught fire. The fire brigade had to use approximately 3,000 liters of water to control the blaze. If the fire had not been extinguished in time, the elevator could have been damaged. No injuries were reported in the incident. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
