Indonesia: Indonesian rescuers found the lost and damaged regional aircraft carrying 11 people on board in a forested area on the slope of Mount Bulusaraung on Sunday.
The plane was identified as a turboprop ATR 42-500 which can carry between 42-50 passengers at a time, was operated by Indonesia Air Transport and Tlost its contact in the Leang-Leang area of Maros, a mountainous district of South Sulawesi province.
The plane was flying to Makassar, capital of South Sulawesi, from Yogyakarta.
The regional aircraft carrying 11 people lost contact and went missing in the Leang-Leang area of Maros, a mountainous district of South Sulawesi province yesterday in Indonesia.
The aircraft was carrying 8 crew members and three ministry staffs were the passengers on board who were on a mission of an airborne maritime surveillance.
Out of 11 people only one person from the lost aircraft has been successfully rescued. The body was found in a ravine around 200m from Mount Bulusaraung’s peak.
The authorities reportedly said as they have already found out the crashed plane their next priority is to find the bodies of the victims on board.
