Business Business: India’s smartphone exports have registered growth in the last three years, making the sector the country’s top export sector for the first time. According to commerce ministry data, smartphone exports grew 55% to $24.14 billion in 2024-25 from $10.96 billion in 2022-23.
Exports to the US grew nearly five-fold and to Japan four-fold during this period. Exports to the US alone grew from $2.16 billion in 2022-23 to $10.6 billion in 2024-25. Exports to Japan rose from $120 million to $520 million.
Apart from this, exports to the Netherlands, Italy and the Czech Republic also saw sharp growth. Exports to the Netherlands rose from $1.07 billion to $2.2 billion, to Italy to $1.26 billion and to the Czech Republic to $1.17 billion.
