The situation in Iran has become tense again due to expectations that the US could attack Iran at any moment and student concerns. In this context, our Indian Embassy has recently issued an advisory to Indian citizens in Iran. It has advised them to leave the country immediately.
“In view of the evolving situation in Iran, we are issuing another advisory in continuation of the guidelines issued by the Government of India on January 5. Indians (students, pilgrims, businessmen, tourists) currently in Iran are advised to leave Iran immediately through available means of travel, including commercial flights. Indian citizens and persons of Indian origin should exercise extreme caution. Stay away from areas of concern. Maintain regular contact with the Indian Embassy in Iran,” the Indian Embassy in Iran said in its advisory.
It also advised people to keep an eye on local media for the latest developments. All Indians are advised to keep their travel and immigration documents, including passports and ID cards, ready at all times. For any assistance in this regard, they should contact the Indian Embassy. If you have not registered your names with the Embassy yet, you should register immediately, the Indian Embassy said in its advisory.
The nuclear talks between Iran and the United States have not yet reached a conclusion. President Trump has signaled that he will not hesitate to attack Iran if these talks fail. The United States has already deployed several aircraft carriers, submarines, and fighter jets to West Asia. In this context, unrest has once again erupted in Tehran. Students from several universities have staged protests. These developments have led to tense conditions in Iran. Meanwhile, a US-based human rights group said that 7,105 people lost their lives in the initial riots in Iran.
