India Should Raise Its Voice Against a War with Iran: Kamal Haasan (MP)

Tamil Nadu: Kamal Haasan—leader of the Makkal Needhi Maiam party and a renowned actor—has stated that India should raise its voice against the conflict involving Iran.

In a post shared on his ‘X’ account on Sunday, he remarked: “Those who fail to recognize the looming threat to India’s oil depots, yet choose to support this war, are merely demonstrating their lack of understanding. We must not emulate those large corporations that remain indifferent to the consequences of war.” He urged the Central Government to address the critical issue of fertilizer availability—essential for crop cultivation—which has been jeopardized by the ongoing conflict. He noted that 70 percent of the world’s fertilizer supply is currently stranded in China and certain Gulf nations. Consequently, he asserted, the Central Government must take concrete steps to resolve this pressing issue.

In his post, Kamal Haasan reiterated that India ought to speak out against the conflict involving Iran, concluding with the affirmation: “I stand with India.”
