India lifts deadline allows Pakistanis to leave till further orders

New Delhi: In the recent development in wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, India lifted the deadline and allowed Pakistanis to leave till further orders. The Pakistan Nationals shall be allowed to leave via the Attari-Wagha border.
The notice read as follows, “In reference to Ministry of Home Affairs OM of even number dated 24 April 2025 on the above-mentioned subject, wherein it was ordered to close all types of incoming and outgoing passengers and movement of goods through the Integrated Check Post Attari with immediate effect, and permitting those who have crossed the border with valid endorsements to return through the route before 01 May 2025.”
The notice further read, “The order in the said OM has been reviewed and in partial modification of the said OM, it is now ordered that Pakistani nationals may be allowed to exit India to go into Pakistan from Integrated Check Post at Attari till further orders, with due clearances.”
It is worth mentioning here that, in the first Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect.
According to reports, all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from April 27, 2025.
Further it is worth mentioning that, the medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till April 29 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas, as now amended.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) further informed that, the Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest.
