India defeated England by five wickets in the fourth Test match of the five-match series being played at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. The Indian team also won the series by 3-1. Briefing about the match, England won the toss and opted to bat first. During bating in the first innings, England scored 353 runs losing all wickets. Of which Joe Root made 122 runs was not out till end, which Ollie Robinson hit 58 runs. From Indian side Ravindra Jadeja took 4 wickets while Akash Deep dropped 3 wickets.
When team India came to batting in the first innings, the team managed to make 307 runs losing all wickets. Of which Dhruv Jurel made 90 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 73 runs. Meanwhile, Shoaib Bashir from England took 5 wickets and Tom Hartley took 3 wickets. In the beginning of the second innings, the white team was leading by 46 runs. However, England could make only 145 runs losing all wickets. During this inning, Zak Crawley made 60 runs, while from Indian side R Ashwin took 5 wickets while Kuldeep Yadav clinched four wickets.
With this, England gave a target of 192 runs for team India to win the match. From the team, Rohit Sharma hit 55 runs while Shubman Gill made 52 runs. Meanwhile, Shoaib Bashir took three wickets.
After winning this match, India is leading the series with 3-1. Of the total matches, England won the first match. In the second, third and fourth matches, India registered victorious wins.
