Incredible, a relationship that was more than just friendship; Mohanlal remembers C.J. Roy.

Kerala: Actor Mohanlal expressed grief over the death of Confident Group Chairman C J Roy, who died by suicide after shooting himself. The actor said in a Facebook post that their relationship was more than just friendship and that he is still unable to come to terms with the loss.
“It is difficult to believe the death of my dear friend C J Roy. I stand with the family in this hour of grief. It was a relationship that was more than just friendship. He will always be remembered with love and warmth,” Mohanlal wrote.
Roy was found dead during an income tax raid. His brother, C J Babu, alleged that he took the extreme step due to mental harassment by income tax officials. C J Roy, alias Chiriyankandath Joseph Roy, was the son of Joseph and Thresia of Guruvayoor. After completing his early education in Bengaluru, he pursued higher education in Paris. He later worked as a planning manager at the multinational company HP before establishing the Confident Group in 2005. In two decades, the company grew into an enterprise with assets worth over Rs 8,000 crore.
Roy produced more than ten films in Malayalam and Kannada. He ventured into film production with the Mohanlal-starrer Casanova. His recently produced film was scheduled for release on the same day he died by suicide. C J Roy was also the co-producer of Anomie, which was scheduled for release on February 6. After Casanova, he produced Malayalam films such as Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea, Suresh Gopi-starrer Mei Hoom Moosa, and Identity.
