Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has increased the gratuity and allowances of Panchayati Raj representatives of the state.
It is worth noting that the Panchayati Raj representatives met 5T Chairman Karthik Pandian during his various district visits and made requests and proposals regarding this increase.
According to the decision, President Zilla Parishad will get a monthly bonus of Rs 30,000 instead of Rs 9,380. Their daily allowance DA + Sitting fee has also been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 600.
In case of the Zilla Parishad Vice-President, their remuneration has been increased from Rs 7,040 to Rs 20,000 and their DA + SF allowance has also been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 600.
While the Zilla Parishad members were getting Rs 3,530, now they will get Rs 10,000 monthly bonus and their daily allowance DA+SF has also been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 600.
Similarly, Panchayat Samiti chairpersons were getting Rs. 3530 will now get 15,000 rupees. Panchayat Samiti vice-presidents used to get a bonus of Rs 2,350. Now they will get 7,005 rupees.
Panchayat Samiti members used to get Rs 2,350. Now you will get 7,005 rupees. Similarly, Sarpanchs will get Rs. 10,000 while they were getting Rs. 2,350 earlier. Naib Sarpanchs will now get Rs 4,000 while they were getting Rs. 940 earlier.
The daily allowance DA+SF of Panchayat Samiti Chairman, Deputy, Panchayat Samiti members, Sarpanch Naib Sarpanch and Ward members has been increased from Rs.240 to Rs. 480.
It is worth noting that earlier, 79.88 crore rupees were spent on remuneration and allowances of Panchayati Raj representatives in Odisha. According to the increased amount of gratuity of Panchayati Raj representatives now the Odisha Government will spend 242.56 crores. The State government will bear an additional cost of Rs.162.68 crore for this.
Apart from this, in case of death during the tenure of the Panchayati Raj representatives, a sum of Rs. 2 lakh will be given. Along with this, Rs 2 lakh will be given in case of complete disability (Irrecoverable Loss of both eyes, hands and feet). Similarly, in case of partial disability (Irrecoverable Loss of one eye, one hand or one leg) assistance of Rs. 1 lakh will be given.
