Inadequate seating at Dabolim airport

Rekha Sarin Trehan Benaulim

Of late the pre-flight boarding hall of Dabolim airport has started to resemble a second class railway waiting room. Inadequate seating forces many to sit on the floor till their flight is ready for boarding. This certainly does not behove an international airport and leaves a very bad impression on foreign tourists.

To maximise revenue, the Airport Authority of India has increased the number of commercial food outlets (with prices that are akin to daylight robbery) at the cost of general seating. Would request the Ministry of Civil Aviation to look into the matter so that passengers cannot be treated like cattle.
