Ranchi (IANS) | In Jharkhand, the names of children from economically weaker families are shining in the list of toppers in the Matriculation Board and Inter Science examinations. The father of some of them is a security guard, while some are involved in petty professions like painter, mason. Some’s mother does sewing and knitting, while some have taught their children to work in the fields. Inter Science state topper Divya Kumari is a resident of Vikas Nagar locality of Ramgarh city. Her father, Shlok Bihari, works as a security guard in a private institute, while her mother, Kusum Devi, helps in running the household by sewing and cutting. Divya, a student of Gandhi Smarak Plus Two School in Ramgarh, studied without any tuition-coaching and her dream is to study medicine. She says, the financial condition of my house is not good. I want to get help from the government for the preparation of medical.
Second topper Khushi Kumari is a student of Usurline School, Ranchi. His father Balmiki Kumar Sharma runs a small grocery shop. Third topper Priyanka Ghosh is also a student of this school. Her father Nitai Ghosh works in a spray painting at a motor garage. Ghosh says that the goal of life is to provide better education to the daughter even in the midst of economic difficulties.
Matric topper Shreya Songiri is a resident of Jamshedpur. Her father Sunilvarna Songiri is a tuition teacher by profession, while mother Supriya Songiri is a homemaker. Saurabh Kumar, a resident of Dumka’s Masalia, is the second matriculation topper in the entire state. His father runs the household by doing farming. The financial condition of the house is not good. Saurabh aspires to become an engineer. Irfan Ansari, father of third topper Sadia Afreen, also takes the work of painting-putty etc. in homes on contract. Irfan Ansari is very proud of daughter’s achievement. Sadia wants to become an IAS.
It is notable that the Jharkhand government has announced a prize of Rs 3 lakh to the first topper of matriculation and intermediate, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh to the second and third topper respectively.
