In connection with the murder of the young man: 5 arrested.

Tamil Nadu: Five people have been arrested in connection with the beating and murder of a young man in Perumbakkam, near Chennai.

Karthikeyan (25), a resident of Ezhil Nagar, S Block, Perumbakkam, was found with serious injuries in the same area on Thursday. Perumbakkam police arrived at the scene, rescued Karthikeyan, and sent him to Tambaram Government Hospital. Doctors there examined him and declared him dead.

Police registered a case. Initial investigations revealed that Karthikeyan was attacked by some people during an argument while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in his death due to the severe injuries. Subsequently, on Friday, police arrested five people from the same area: Kumar (27), Vijayakumar (28), Sarath alias Sarathkumar (35), Charanraj alias Gokul (29), and Karthik (26).

Drug buyer arrested: Maduravoyal police, while on patrol in the Mettukuppam area on Thursday, stopped and questioned a young man on a motorcycle. They found 3 grams of methamphetamine in his bag. Police seized the drugs and arrested Ameer Pasha (32), an employee of a food delivery company from Pursaiwalkam. It was revealed that he had purchased the methamphetamine through the Grindr app.

Car falls from flyover – college student injured: A car speeding on the Maduravoyal bypass road from Ambattur towards the Porur toll booth lost control on a flyover at midnight, broke through the barrier, and fell approximately 30 feet to the ground. The young man driving the car, who was seriously injured in the accident, was rescued by passersby and sent to Kilpauk Government Hospital. Vanagaram police investigations revealed that the driver of the car was Salman (19), a resident of Andavar Nagar, 2nd Street, Kodambakkam, and a student at a private college in Royapettah.
