Dongargarh. Jyoti Kalash was immersed in the world famous Maa Bamleshwari temple on Navami, the last day of Navratri festival. Apart from Chhattisgarh, people from other states including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh also came to see this Jyoti Kalash immersion which took place late at night.
The flame of people’s faith was lit in Maa Bamleshwari temple during the nine-day long Navratri festival. Jyoti Kalash was immersed at four o’clock in the morning after performing puja with rituals at Maa Bamleshwari located above.
Late in the night, Maa Bamleshwari and Bhairon ji puja was performed by the pundits and Bega of the temple in the Maa Bamleshwari temple located below. Thereafter, the women placed the Jyoti Kalash on their heads and crossed the tracks to reach the historic ancient Mahavir Temple pond of the city, where the Jyoti Kalash were immersed. During this period, railway operations on this route were also stopped for half an hour. This Chaitra Navratri festival ended with the immersion of Jyoti Kalash.
