IMD issues dense and shallow to moderate fog warnings for Odisha
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued dense and shallow to moderate fog warnings for different districts of Odisha, following which the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) also issued a precautionary warning for the concerned officials.
Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Angul and Kandhamal till 8.30 AM of tomorrow, said the department adding that a yellow warning has been sounded for these two districts of the state.
Shallow to moderate fog is also very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi and Nayagarh during this period of time, predicted the IMD. It further said that dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha till 8.30 AM of January 2.
Likewise, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi and Nayagarh from 8.30 AM of January 2 to 8.30 AM of January 3.
Speaking about the temperature, the weatherman said that maximum and minimum temperature are very likely to be around 26 degree Celsius and 15 degree Celsius respectively.
Police and transport official of respective district may take necessary steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog to avoid any road accident, said the SRC.
Notably, the highest maximum temperature of 31.8°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 9.2°C was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha.
