New Delhi (IANS) | The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday said it has arrested directors, chartered accountants of Broadson Commodities Pvt Ltd and Aditya Multicom Pvt Ltd in Patna (Bihar) recently in connection with illegal mining cases in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad and Hazaribagh, and Kolkata (West Bengal). And conducted search operations at 27 places associated with other associates. The ED launched the PMLA probe on the basis of various FIRs lodged by the Bihar Police against the companies and their directors.
FIR based on complaints by the Mining Department of Bihar against Broadson Commodities Pvt Ltd and Aditya Multicom Pvt Ltd and their directors for illegal sand mining and its sale without using the departmental pre-paid transport e-challan issued by the Mining Authority has been registered. Thus, the state exchequer of Bihar is facing a revenue loss of Rs 250 crore.
The search operation resulted in the discovery of cash, incriminating documents, sale deed of properties purchased and FDRs in the name of companies and their directors.
Cash worth Rs 1.5 crore and documents of property worth Rs 11 crore have been seized. FDRs worth Rs 6 crore and 60 bank accounts have been frozen. Other incriminating physical and digital material found during the search has also been seized for examination.
