The atmosphere of the village is getting spoiled due to the open sale of illegal liquor at 5 to 6 places in the village, while the young generation is getting addicted to drugs. Due to which many families are on the verge of ruin.
It is not that the Excise Department and Police Administration are not aware of the business of illegal liquor being sold openly in the village, but despite the information, the functioning of the Excise and Police Department is being questioned due to the lack of control on the sale of illegal liquor. Villagers and women of Bharat Mata Vahini group have also informed the police administration under the leadership of former Chairman of District Panchayat Murari Mishra to stop the sale of illegal liquor in the village. Despite this, instead of stopping the sale of liquor, it is being sold more openly. According to the information received, four to five liquor vendors are openly serving liquor to the people in Gram Panchayat Tonatar for a long time. Due to the inactivity of the Excise Department and the Police Administration, illegal activities are being carried out by liquor vendors near the Bagbudhwa pond near the government well near the Narwa Para Jaitkham Chowk entrance. According to the information received from the sources, the hotel opens near the entrance around four to five in the morning and liquor is sold by a liquor vendor near this hotel. There is a gathering of drunkards near this hotel since early morning.
Opening of the hotel in the early morning and the gathering of drunkards gives rise to many doubts. Similar situation prevails near the government well, where a huge crowd of drunkards gathers in the evening. At other places too, illegal sale of alcohol has been going on openly for a long time. Due to lack of action, the morale of the liquor dealers is high, due to which crime and anti-social activities are on the rise in the village. Villagers say that even after holding meetings in the village to stop and punish the illegal dealers, they do not hesitate in saying that they have the police in their pockets. Women say that the youth of the village are ruining their future by drug addiction. People remain inebriated since morning, due to which many families have to face financial crisis.
