Illegal felling was happening in private land with 1700 trees, forest department raided

Raipur. As soon as the information about illegal felling of trees in private land was received, the officers of Navaraipur Forest Range and Revenue Department reached the spot. Here they found that the trees of their private land were being cut by the owner of the land. Recording of trees cut on the spot was started. Giving detailed information in this matter, Forest Officer of Raipur Forest Division Mr. Vishwesh Kumar said that felling was being done in private land by Prakash Davda and Chinmay Davda in village-Navagaon, tehsil-Abhanpur. Action was taken as soon as the information was received.

During the inspection, it was found that the work of construction of farm and illegal felling of trees was being done by Davda in the land of his Bhumiswami Haq. Mr. Thackeray said that the actual area of the land encircled by Mr. Davda would be clear only from the demarcation of the land.

Recording of the trees cut is being done by the staff of the Forest Department, so that the number of trees cut can be estimated correctly. During the proceedings, the wood obtained on the spot is being transported to Tarri Depot after recording. Presently no cutting was found in the land of Forest Department. Taking collective action by the revenue and forest staff, a small elephant, tractor-trolley, plant and other material engaged in tree felling and transportation work were seized and sent to Abhanpur police station. At present, the process of confiscation of wood obtained from illegal felling in private land is going on in nearby villages. Demarcation proceedings are also being done by Naib Tehsildar Abhanpur and other revenue staff. The work of collecting the forest produce obtained from illegal felling by the staff of the Forest Department and sending it to the depot after recording is going on. Action for search and seizure of illegally stored wood is also being done by the forest staff.
