When the police reached the accused’s house to arrest him, he released his four aggressive dogs on the police to avoid action. But the police also showed cleverness and controlled the dogs with the help of the dog rescue team. After which the accused was caught. Also, betting slips and a large amount of money were also seized from the spot.
According to the information, on July 31, the police received information from an informer that Prem Singh Parihar is playing betting sitting in his house in Jawahar Nagar Ward, Metguda. On this information, a special team was formed under the leadership of Bodhghat police station in-charge Liladhar Rathore under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shalabh Kumar Sinha, the direction of ASP Maheshwar Nag and the supervision of City Superintendent of Police Amit Devangan. The team reached Prem Singh Parihar’s house as per the address given by the informer and was asked to open the door for search and arrest. But the accused released 4 dangerous dogs kept in his house on the police team to obstruct police action and avoid search.
After this, to bring the situation under control, the police took help from the dog welfare-rescue team of Stray Safe Foundation. Team members Srinivas Verma, Luftesh Jagat and Abhishek Awasthi safely controlled all the aggressive dogs. After this, the police arrested the accused Prem Singh Parihar (father Balam Singh Parihar, age 59 years, resident Jawahar Nagar Ward, Jagdalpur) and searched the house. During the search, 30 pieces of betting slips, cash amount of Rs 1,36,000 and an old used pen were seized from the spot. The accused was arrested and produced in the court on judicial remand.
