Illegal abortion pill racket busted in Nalasopara, FDA takes major action against ‘Gurukripa’ clinic
Maharashtra: A serious and shocking case has come to light from Nalasopara, Mumbai, where a black market network selling illegal abortion pills has been uncovered. The entire matter was uncovered during a raid conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) team at the “Gurukripa” clinic located in the Nirmal Naka area of Nalasopara West, causing widespread panic in the area.
According to reports, the FDA had been receiving complaints for a long time about the sale of illegal drugs and unauthorized medical practice at the clinic. Based on the complaints, the department formed a special team and planned the raid. As soon as the team began conducting the raid, panic gripped the doctors and staff present there.
A shocking turn occurred during the raid when the accused doctor attempted to destroy evidence and allegedly scuffled with officials. This incident created tension at the scene, requiring the deployment of additional security forces. However, officials controlled the situation and continued the investigation.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the clinic was illegally selling abortion-related medications without proper permission. These medications were being sold without medical supervision and without following medical protocols, a serious legal violation.
The accused doctor, identified as Shailesh Mahajan, holds a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree and was operating the “Gurukripa” clinic. It is alleged that he had been involved in this illegal activity for a long time and was providing abortion pills without proper medical protocols.
FDA officials have seized several suspicious medications, medical records, and other materials from the clinic. These items are being sent to a laboratory for testing to determine the nature and source of the drugs.
The local administration and health department have also become concerned after this incident surfaced. Officials say that such illegal medical practices can pose a serious threat to women’s health. Consuming such medications without expert supervision can sometimes prove fatal.
The FDA has clarified that a detailed investigation into the matter is underway and strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty. It is also investigating whether other individuals are involved in this racket or whether it is part of a larger network.
Overall, this action in Nalasopara demonstrates the administration’s strictness against illegal medical practice and drug sales, while it also raises serious questions about the oversight of the healthcare system.
