ICC T20 rankings: Rashid Khan regains top spot among bowlers

Dubai (IANS)| Leg-spinner Rashid Khan reclaimed the top spot in the latest ICC T20 rankings released on Wednesday after Afghanistan’s historic 2-1 series win against Pakistan.

Rashid took one wicket each in three matches for a total of 62 runs in 12 overs. Rashid has overtaken Vanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka to reach the top spot. He had grabbed the top spot for the first time in February 2018 and was at the number one spot till November last year.

Rashid’s teammate Fazalhaq Farooqui, who took a total of five wickets in the series, has jumped 12 places to be at number three.

Afghanistan now has three players in the top 10 among bowlers. Spinner Mujeeb Ur Rehman, who took four wickets in the series, has moved up to the eighth position.

Pakistan’s regular captain Babar Azam, who was rested for the series, has dropped one place to fourth among batsmen.

Pakistan’s stand-in captain Shadab Khan, who was the player of the match in the last match, has jumped eight places to fourth in the all-rounders rankings and has improved six places to 12th among bowlers.

India’s Shubman Gill has moved up to the fifth spot among batsmen with the best rating of 738 points while skipper Rohit Sharma has improved one place to be at number eight after Australia’s 2-1 series win over India. .

All-rounder Hardik Pandya has jumped 10 places to reach the 76th position among bowlers.
