ICC Player Rankings: Siraj loses top spot in ODIs, Williamson becomes number two in Tests

Dubai (IANS) | Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has lost his top spot to Australia’s Josh Hazlewood in the latest ICC ODI rankings released on Wednesday.

Siraj took a severe beating at the hands of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head in the second ODI against Australia, as a result of which he lost his top spot in the ODI bowling rankings, slipping behind Hazlewood and New Zealand’s Trent Boult to finish with 702 rating points. Reached third place.

Hazlewood (713 points) became the number one bowler in ODIs for the first time. His previous best position was in June 2017. Australia’s left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc is joint third with Siraj after taking eight wickets in the first two matches against India.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam continues to top the batting rankings with 887 rating points. Rassie van der Dussen (777) of South Africa is in second place.

New Zealand’s top batsman Kane Williamson is inching closer to the top spot in the Test rankings. Thanks to a brilliant innings of 215 runs in the second Test against Sri Lanka, he has reached number two with an improvement of four places.

Williamson has improved 51 rating points and is 32 behind top-ranked Marnus Labuschagne of Australia with 883 points.
