I will live 110 years or more, Dalai Lama expressed his dream

Himachal Pradesh: After saying in his latest book that he would be reborn outside China, the Dalai Lama, while preaching at his main temple in Mcleodganj, said he had dreams that he would live 110 years or more. The Dalai Lama today concluded his two-day sermon to celebrate Miracle Day, when the Buddha performed miracles at Sravasti in response to a challenge from six rival spiritual leaders. The ceremony was attended by 6,000 people. The Dalai Lama said the event was part of the Great Prayer Festival (Monlam Chenmo) established by Je Tsongkhapa at Jokhang in Lhasa in 1409. He said after some time, the festival died out but was revived during the time of the second Dalai Lama Gendun Gyatso and is still celebrated today. He added, “We have lost our country and have come to live in exile in India and elsewhere. Here and in other parts of the world, we have seen a growing interest in the Buddha’s teachings. “Avalokitesvara is described as having 1,000 eyes, which I do not have, but I have served the Dharma to the best of my ability. I was born around Siling and was given the name Lhamo Dondup, which led to the prophecy that I would be discovered as a boy and have a girl’s name. Later, I was enthroned as the Dalai Lama. I took the examinations to become Geshe Lharampa. In exile, I have served the Buddhadharma and beings to the best of my ability and have received signs in my dreams that I may live to be 110 years old or more. In my remaining years, I am determined to continue to serve the Dharma and beings as much as possible. I am inspired by the prayer written by Je Tsongkhapa at the end of his ‘Great Treatise on the Steps of the Path to Enlightenment’. “I am very impressed,” the Dalai Lama said.
