Maharashtra: Harshvardhan Patil on leaving BJP: Before the 2019 assembly elections, there was a lot of talk of a mega recruitment in the BJP. On September 11, Harshvardhan Patil’s entry into the BJP gave a big jolt to the Congress in Indapur. Exactly two years later, on October 13, 2021, Harshvardhan Patil said, “Since the BJP has come, we can now sleep peacefully”… Now exactly three years and once again before the assembly elections, Harshvardhan Patil is waiting for the NCP (Sharad Pawar) party to defeat the BJP. ‘Are you going to sleep now?’ When asked such a question in the press conference, his answer was ‘No comments’!
Against the backdrop of direct talks and indirect developments that lasted for about one and a half months, it was being said that Harshvardhan Patil would soon leave the BJP. Harshvardhan Patil announced in the press conference that he discussed with Devendra Fadnavis and then took a decision on the matter, although Patil’s policy of not saying anything did not last till yesterday. So it is now clear that there were discussions between him and the state leaders of the party.
