Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees helped a pregnant woman deliver a baby girl safely on an RTC bus in Bahadurpura on Friday. A woman named Swetha Ratnam boarded the 1Z number bus of Musheerabad depot at Aramghar. On reaching Bahadurpura, she started experiencing labour pains. Then the bus conductor R Saroja informed the driver and stopped the bus.
With the help of other women passengers on the bus, Saroja helped Swetha deliver the baby girl safely on the bus itself. Later, she was admitted to a nearby government maternity hospital for better treatment. At present, the mother and child are healthy. TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar congratulated the women passengers and conductor Saroja who helped in the safe delivery. Doctors said that the mother and child are safe due to the timely response. Sajjanar said that it is commendable that the RTC employees are showing a spirit of service along with safely transporting the passengers to their destination.
