Hyderabad: BRS workers paid emotional tributes to late Veda Saichand, renowned folk singer and party leader, on his first death anniversary on Saturday. BRS working president KT Rama Rao along with former minister T Harish Rao led party workers in paying homage to the cultural activist. He recalled the pivotal role played by Saichand in the struggle for statehood. Harish Rao said Saichand’s contribution to the cultural and political landscape of Telangana was immense and he had a place in every heart in the state. He said the void created by Saichand’s demise on this day last year was felt very much during the last elections. Recalling the invaluable services rendered by Saichand, Rama Rao paid tributes to him on behalf of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and the entire party. BRS leaders G Jagadish Reddy and S Niranjan Reddy were among those who paid tributes on the occasion.
