Hyderabad: Thunderstorms and strong winds will continue till the weekend

Hyderabad: Hyderabad may witness thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kmph on Friday. According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad, almost all parts of the city, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad and Serilingampally areas, are likely to witness cloudy sky, light to moderate rain or thundershowers, lightning and strong winds. A yellow alert (low intensity) has also been issued for Hyderabad on Friday. The forecast said, “Hyderabad will witness partly cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers with lightning and strong winds are likely.” Also, the weather pattern is likely to continue till the weekend.

Meanwhile, similar weather conditions are expected in almost all districts of Telangana. In its statewide short-term forecast, IMD-Hyderabad said that “light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places over Telangana state. There will be no significant change in maximum temperature and thereafter gradual increase of 2 to 3 degree Celsius during next 3 days”. The temperature forecast from Friday to Sunday issued by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) indicated that the maximum temperature would be between 37 degree Celsius and 39 degree Celsius. IMD-Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) for Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhongir, Rangareddy, Hyderabad districts of Telangana state.
