Hyderabad: Hyderabad police on Monday arrested three people for illegally possessing amphetamine. Police seized 8.5 kg of the drug, a car and three mobile phones from them. Those arrested include Kunchala Nagaraju (34), Ashagaonni Vinod Kumar Goud (32) and Kunthi Srisailam (42). According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner K Srinivas Reddy, prime suspect Gosukonda Anji Reddy of Bowrampet Dundigal, who is now in jail in an NDPS case, used to manufacture the drugs. In June, Anji Reddy gave three packets containing amphetamine to Nagaraju and asked him to hide them at some place and collect them later.
Meanwhile, police arrested Anji Reddy in the drug case and he was sent to jail. “Nagaraju was facing financial problems and was planning to sell the amphetamine along with his two associates Vinod and Srisailam. He came to the city with contraband and was caught in Bowenpally,” K Srinivas Reddy said. Hyderabad Police Commissioner said the police will take Anji Reddy into custody and question him in connection with the case. The operation was carried out by the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW) in collaboration with Bowenpally police.
