Hyderabad: Missing children from Andhra Pradesh found in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: Three children who left their home in Vijayawada and reached Secunderabad after being scolded by their parents for using mobile phones were rescued by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Secunderabad. Under Operation Muskaan-X, the RPF rescued these children aged between 13 and 16 years. These children are residents of HB Colony in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Railway police said that the children were upset after being scolded by their parents for not studying and spending too much time on mobile phones. They left their home with gold and silver jewellery and boarded the Janmabhoomi Express in Vijayawada and reached Secunderabad railway station.

They were apprehended by railway and child welfare officials during inspection of the premises under ‘Operation Muskaan’ at platform number 8 and on questioning, they revealed their identity and the reason for running away from home. On questioning the Vijayawada police, they confirmed that an FIR has already been lodged at Bhavanipuram police station regarding the incident of the children going missing. Railway officials said, a team from the local police station will come to Secunderabad and the children will be handed over to them.
