Hyderabad: The voice in favor of shifting Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) to Vijayawada or Kurnool has become louder. Many people are not in favor of shifting the seat of the junta to Visakhapatnam as proposed by the Andhra Pradesh government. The joint has a total of 56 employees from both technical and non-technical sectors and most of them are from Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the board of directors, which insists on allotment of office space of approximately 17,000 square feet, is yet to receive definite confirmation in this regard. Apart from representatives of farmer organizations from Rayalaseema region in AP, Telangana government has also requested the AP government to shift the junta to a location convenient to all interested parties within the river basin. The shifting of the KRMB seat may take a little more time, as the Superior Tribunal of AP has directed the state government not to shift government offices to Visakhapatnam until all petitions questioning the measure are resolved .
