Hyderabad: To promote physical and mental well-being, a center of yoga and meditation has recently opened its doors inside the lush green park Jalagama Vengala Rao (JVR) in Banjara Hills. With modern facilities and a serene environment, the facilities are designed to cater to the needs of people of all ages and levels of physical condition. Run by the Heartfulness Institute, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad, the 6.30am classes are free for all. Besides Matutino, a habitual walker, others are also enrolling in classes. The center was inaugurated by Alcalde Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose. The two also attended their inaugural class, where the alcalde suggested holding nightly sessions to include more walkers in the park. Apart from being a center for yoga and meditation, the Heartfulness Institute adopted the Jalagama Vengal Rao Park to realize its beauty and vegetation. Apart from planting garden plants based on herbs and medicinal plants, they also plant aromatic, pollinating and other native plants in coordination with GHMC. To make JVR Park one of the best in the twin cities, the authorities have undertaken other development works, including placement of new walking paths and installation of public lighting. Along with cleaning the pond, it will also be decorated with aquatic plants and LED lighting.
