Hyderabad: The All India Fixed Internet Service Providers Association (AIFISPA) has assured Hyderabadis that Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are working closely with the authorities to restore internet services at the earliest. The disruption in internet services in Hyderabad happened after the electricity authorities removed overhead cables. AIFISPA expressed concern that the electricity department is cutting fibre cables indiscriminately and not following the guidelines of the central government. After a meeting with TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Farooqui, the service providers agreed to provide manpower to help TSSPDCL to ensure safe fibre routing across the city.
The industry has deployed ground teams to assess and restore connectivity, with critical and high-demand areas prioritised to work with TSSPDCL. AIFISPA spokesperson Harpreet Singh Kainth said in a press release, “We would like to assure our customers that all Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are working closely with the authorities to ensure safe and quick restoration of services. Ground teams have already been deployed across the city.” He appealed, “We urge the Telangana government and TSSPDCL to immediately stop the indiscriminate action of removing cables and cooperate in restoring internet in the city.”
