Hyderabad: The Golconda police on Sunday arrested five persons for blackmailing and extorting money from a man. According to the police, a yoga practitioner runs a wellness centre and ashram in Chevella. A few months ago, two women joined the wellness centre citing health issues and started staying there. Over time, the women recorded private videos with the victim and started blackmailing her. They initially took a cheque of Rs 50 lakh from her and later demanded Rs 2 crore. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested five persons, Kisara Manjula, Rajini Reddy, C Amar, C Rajesh and D Moulali.
Teen dies, five injured in road accident in Rajendranagar
A person was killed and five others were injured when a car rammed into a road divider in Rajendranagar in the wee hours of Sunday. The victim, Mohammed Kabir Khan (19), was travelling in the car with his five friends. At around 3.20 am, the car driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding on Shamshabad-Aramghar Road and the car rammed into a divider. Kabir died on the spot, while five others were injured and were admitted to a private hospital in Shamshabad for treatment. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
‘Distressed’ factory worker found hanging in Abdullapurmet
Hyderabad: A factory worker allegedly committed suicide due to financial constraints in Abdullapurmet on Saturday night. According to the police, Sukamol Jain (29), a resident of Abdullapurmet and a native of Odisha, had left home on Saturday evening saying he had work. On Sunday morning, one of his colleagues found him hanging from a tree, following which he informed the family.
