Hyderabad: In yet another incident related to food safety violation, a customer has reported finding a hair pin in the biryani he ordered from Mehfil restaurant in Manikonda via Swiggy on Saturday. Expressing grief over the incident, the customer shared a picture of the biryani with the safety pin on social media and tagged several authorities including Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (@fssaiindia), Hyderabad City Police (@hydcitypolice) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (@GHMCOnline).
Acknowledging the incident, Hyderabad City Police responded immediately and directed the complainant to contact Cyberabad Police as the location falls under their jurisdiction. “Please WhatsApp Cyberabad Police on 8712663061 as the mentioned location falls under their jurisdiction. @GHMCOnline
In response, the customer said: “Thanks for the quick response and we hope this incident does not happen to any other customer. Please take necessary action against that particular restaurant.” The post on X comes amid months of raids being carried out by the Telangana Food Safety Department on food service establishments, including restaurants, hostels and PGs in Hyderabad.
