Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police has arrested six people in connection with a recent incident in which a 31-year-old woman tragically died after consuming momos bought from a street vendor in Singada Kunta area. Those arrested have been charged with culpable homicide. Details of the incident The incident took place on October 25, 2024, when Reshma Begum, a resident of Singada Basti in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, went to the local vegetable market with her daughter. While there, they purchased momos from a stall operated by Sajid Hussain, Almas (also known as Armaan) and their associates. After consuming the momos, Reshma and her daughters became seriously ill, showing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea the next day. As Reshma’s condition deteriorated, her family admitted her to NIMS Hospital in Panjagutta. Tragically, doctors declared her dead. His daughters, along with several other customers who had eaten the same food, were also hospitalised.
