Hyderabad: Residential Educational Institutions Societies teacher job aspirants on Tuesday staged a unique protest by kneeling in front of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s residence, demanding implementation of High Court interim orders. To press for their demand, the protesters blocked MLC-elect Teenmar Mallanna’s vehicle at the CM residence. The MLC-elect reportedly told the aspirants that he would arrange a meeting with the CM.
This is the second such protest by the aspirants in the last 10 days. Teacher job aspirants from across the state reached the CM’s residence with the hope of presenting their problem and getting it resolved. However, they were not allowed to meet the CM. According to the protesters, the High Court in its interim orders directed the government to consider the appointment of the next meritorious candidates to the posts of degree lecturers, junior lecturers, postgraduate teachers, trained graduate teachers, librarians and physical directors in residential educational institutions in the wake of non-joining, fallout or relinquishment of posts.
