Husband breaks wife’s arm, repeated calls prove costly

Bilaspur. A young man living in Deorikhurd, Torwa, broke his wife’s hand after being annoyed by her repeated phone calls. He also attacked her with a sharp weapon. The wife, who was injured in the attack, lodged a complaint at the Torwa police station. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
Rehana Kinnar (29), a resident of Deorikhurd, Torwa, has filed a complaint of assault against her husband. Rehana stated that her husband, Varun Mahanand, had gone to Nainital for a trip on January 6th. During this time, Rehana repeatedly called him on his mobile phone. After returning from Nainital, Varun argued with his wife on January 13th over the same issue. When she tried to reason with him, he abused her and threatened to kill her. During this time, he attacked Rehana with a sharp weapon. Rehana, injured in the attack, went to her husband’s grandmother, Saroj Mahanand, with a complaint. Meanwhile, her husband followed her to his grandfather’s house. There, he beat his wife with a wooden plank, breaking Rehana’s arm.
Rehana, injured in the beating, managed to reach a private hospital. After receiving treatment, she reported the incident to the Torwa police station. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
