Mungeli. A minor from the district has given birth to a child in SIMS Hospital located in Bilaspur. On receiving information about this case, the Kotwali police immediately reached the hospital and started investigation. The police was informed by an unknown person that the teenager admitted in the hospital is pregnant and has been admitted due to labor pain. Kotwali CSP, IPS officer Akshay Pramod Sabdra said that after receiving the information, the police team reached SIMS and questioned the minor and her relatives there.
In the police interrogation, it was revealed that the minor was married and was living in her in-laws’ house. After confirming the marriage, the police have arrested her husband. Registering an FIR in zero in the case, a case has been registered against the accused husband under the POCSO Act and sections of rape. Now this case will be transferred to Mungeli district, where further investigation will be done by the local police.
The police say that after confirming the documents and other evidence of the minor’s age, the matter will be investigated in depth. If child marriage is confirmed, action can also be taken against those responsible involved.
