Narayanpur. Bastar Olympics 2024 has been organized by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai with the aim of promoting development and culture through sports in the tribal-dominated and Maoist-affected Bastar division. Special enthusiasm was seen among the youth regarding this event, in which youth from remote villages demonstrated their sports skills. Chief Minister Sai has described this initiative as an important effort to preserve tribal culture and traditional sports as well as connect the youth with the mainstream.

District level Bastar Olympic competition was organized in Narayanpur district from 22 to 23 November. The competition was organized at the Parade Ground and Sports Complex of Narayanpur, in which the players of the district participated enthusiastically. Today, the state’s Home and Jail Panchayat and Rural Development, Technical Education and Employment Science, Technology and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma attended the closing ceremony of the district level Bastar Olympics as the chief guest. Addressing the program, he encouraged the players who won in the district level Olympics to win in the division level Bastar Olympics to be held in Jagdalpur from 5 to 10 December. He said that the decision to abolish Article 370 applicable in Jammu and Kashmir was taken by the Home Minister of the country Amit Shah on 5 August 2019, after which only one constitution has been implemented in the country. To develop Bastar, roads, bridges, culverts, Anganwadi, schools, drinking water, electricity, mobile towers will be installed in the interior villages. The work of changing the picture of Bastar is being done under the good governance of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. All of you will play an important role in making Bastar Maoist free. He said that the Maoists have made up their mind to keep the people of Bastar away from development, due to which schools, roads, bridges, culverts and drinking water have not reached the interior villages till now and the children of Bastar are being made illiterate. We will not let their plans succeed, we all will have to take a pledge to make Bastar division Maoist free by 31 March 2026. Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that we will have to come forward to face the Maoists boldly. Appealed to contribute in making Bastar a peaceful state, progressive, progressive and developed. He said that we all need to come forward to preserve the culture and tradition of Bastar. The players of Bastar have amazing talent, for which this Bastar Olympics has given a good opportunity to hone it, which you people should perform well and take the sport forward. Bastar has abundant water, forest and land, contribute to advance your life by preserving it. Roads, bridges, drinking water, schools, Anganwadis, sub-health centers are being established in the inaccessible areas of Abujhmad, soon Abujhmad will start connecting with the main stream. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma announced to build sports grounds built with Rs 50-50 lakh in Orchha and Narayanpur.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma distributed prizes to the district level winning players of Bastar Olympics 2024. Encouraging the players, he said that along with studies, sports are also important in life. Therefore, it is necessary to set a goal in sports and work hard to move forward in life. As per the wishes of the Chief Minister of the state, Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, it is a good time to hone the talents of the village. Taking advantage of this opportunity, set a goal to reach the state level and move forward in the field of sports. Players should always play with sportsmanship and show their discipline. Addressing the players, he said that the children of Abujhmad region have become skilled in Malkhambh games and have brought laurels to their Abujhmad by performing in many cities of the country. The players who participated in the event were also given moments, trophies, certificates and uniforms as rewards to the players who got first, second and third place. All the participants who participated in the event were given participation certificates.
