Holi is a symbol of love and brotherhood: Negi

Himachal Pradesh: Revenue, Horticulture, Tribal Development and Public Grievance Redressal Minister Jagat Singh Negi attended the Holi Festival at Sangla in Kinnaur district as the Chief Guest. He said that Holi, the festival of colours, is a symbol of love, affection and the spirit of brotherhood. Extending his best wishes to the people of the state, Negi said that people from across the country and abroad come to this festival and gather to enjoy it. He also said that the present state government is always ready to promote traditional festivals and celebrations and in view of the increasing number of tourists in Kinnaur, Sangla Valley will be made more convenient for tourism, with plans to enhance both basic and modern facilities.

He assured them that the ongoing sewer project at Sangla will be completed by July. He also announced that Rs 3 lakh will be donated to Bering Nag Holi Club, Sangla from the voluntary fund. He later attended the ‘Atharoh’ festival held at Usha Mata Mandir premises at Nichar as the Chief Guest, which was being held after 18 years. During this program he met the Usha Mata Mandir Committee and heard the grievances of the local people. He assured them that all the genuine demands would be fulfilled in a phased manner.
