Hindi is our cultural heritage and identity

Raipur. Today 10th January is “World Hindi Day”, Hindi Day is being celebrated with pomp all over the world including India. World Hindi Day is a special day for us Indians because it is Hindi which is the most natural, simple, decent and dignified language. This is our powerful medium of expression, our thoughts, our attitudes, our expressions, the most beautiful of our emotions. It is a medium. Through Hindi we express our ethical thoughts in a simple and easy way. Which everyone can understand very easily.

Reason for celebrating World Hindi Day-
There is only one reason for celebrating World Hindi Day and that is to promote Hindi throughout the world so that its popularity remains. Its influence and importance should always increase. Hindi is our cultural heritage, our identity, our unity. It is the only Hindi which binds us together. It teaches us respect, dignity and decency.

When is World Hindi Day being celebrated-
The first World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur on January 10, 1975. After this, 11 such conferences were held in Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, Suriname, America, South Africa. In this way, efforts were made to spread Hindi all over the world. And considering 10th January as a special day, the then Prime Minister of our country Shri Manmohan Singh announced to celebrate Hindi Day in 2006. After that, the Ministry of External Affairs first celebrated 10th January as World Hindi Day abroad in 2006. And from then till today, World Hindi Day is being celebrated on 10th January. Its basic objective is to make Hindi language reach the masses and to give it the status as an international language.

Where is Hindi language spoken?
Apart from India, Hindi language is also spoken in Nepal, Guyana, Mauritius, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname and Fiji. Here Hindi Day program is celebrated with pomp. To promote Hindi, a poetry and story writing competition was organized on Hindi subject. Cultural programs are also organised.
