Himachal Pradesh: Indian Youth Congress President Chhattar Singh Thakur said today that the central government’s withdrawal of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) is affecting Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to the media here, Chhattar Singh said that the central government’s decision to withdraw the RDG from Himachal was wrong, as the state received this grant during the previous BJP government. He said, “This is the state’s right and stopping it is wrong.”
Chhattar Singh, who is also the vice-president of the HP government’s State Youth Board, criticized the action taken against Youth Congress activists who protested during the AI Summit in New Delhi, calling it undemocratic and a violation of constitutional rights. The Youth Congress chief alleged that the protesters were targeted for raising legitimate concerns and compared it to the way the Congress handled protests against BJP activists during its own government.
