Himachal Pradesh: Kangra police recovered the body of an unidentified man from the banks of the Beas River near Kangehan village in the Lambagaon police station area. Officials said the body, which appeared to be stuck between rocks, surfaced when the river’s water level receded following the monsoon’s withdrawal. Villagers first spotted the body while grazing cattle and informed Panchayat head Kusum Lata, who then informed the police.
A team led by station in-charge Kuldeep Singh arrived at the scene and transported the body to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Tanda for a post-mortem examination. The body will be kept in the mortuary for 72 hours to facilitate identification. Police have issued an alert in the upper districts of Kullu and Mandi and requested the families of the missing persons to help locate the deceased. Officials are awaiting the post-mortem report to begin their investigation.
