Himachal Pradesh: Two men have been arrested with 10 grams of chitta (heroin) from Fagu, around 19 km from Shimla city. The accused have been identified as Manish Kashyap (24), a resident of Mahog village in Theog, and Rohit Verma (24), a resident of Tingar Tankoti village in Theog. According to police, the accused were arrested after a police officer received information that two persons were carrying narcotics while they were travelling from Kufri to Fagu. Acting on the information, a police team set up a check post at Fagu and stopped their car for checking. During checking, the police found contraband in their possession, following which the suspects were apprehended. The accused have been booked under sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Theog police station, Theog Deputy Superintendent of Police Siddharth Sharma said. Chamba: Divers on Wednesday recovered the bodies of two persons who drowned after their vehicle fell into the National Hydro Power Corporation’s Chamera-1 dam. The ill-fated pick-up truck was carrying vegetables from Punjab when the driver lost control of the vehicle on Tuesday, resulting in the vehicle falling into the reservoir. The deceased have been identified as Beli Ram (22), a resident of Nakrod and Sanjay Kumar (17), a resident of Kilwara village in Churah subdivision of Chamba district.
