Himachal Pradesh: Punjab National Bank Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Kullu inaugurated a 10-day travel and tourist guide training camp at the picturesque Tirthan Valley located in Banjar subdivision of Kullu district. Around 35 local youths will benefit from this free training programme aimed at enhancing tourism prospects in the valley. Programme coordinator Saurabh Upadhyay said the programme is designed for residents aged between 18 and 45 years.
During the 10 days, the participants will receive comprehensive training in travel and tourist guiding from experienced master trainers. The training will include modern techniques and skills required to become successful entrepreneurs in the tourism industry. On completion of the training, participants will be awarded certificates, entitling them to guide tourists at popular destinations including the Great Himalayan National Park. The training will be held at Pakhri village till September 18. There is remarkable enthusiasm among the local youth about this initiative. Vice President Virendra Bhardwaj encouraged all the participants to take full advantage of the training to enhance their career prospects in the tourism sector.
