Himachal Pradesh: On the occasion of World Meditation Day, the Physical Education Department of Government College Dehri in Fatehpur subdivision organized a meditation session on Saturday to promote mental and physical health of students. The session was inaugurated by Head of Department Devinder Singh. He made the students aware about World Meditation Day observed every year on December 21 by the United Nations General Assembly. He highlighted the importance of meditation to focus on concentrating the mind, calming the brain, getting rid of negative thoughts and reducing stress. Yoga instructor Rajit Sharma taught the practices of Sukshma Yoga, Pranayama and meditation to the students of the college. A total of 110 students participated in the session, where the instructor guided them through various asanas and meditation techniques that help in mental clarity, stress relief and overall physical health. The session concluded with the address of Principal Sachin Kumar, who appreciated the active participation of the students and emphasized the importance of incorporating meditation and yoga in daily life. The United Nations General Assembly had passed a resolution on December 6 and formally declared December 21 as World Meditation Day.
