Himachal Pradesh: The state government will launch Shikaras in Govind Sagar Lake to promote tourism, an official statement said on Tuesday. The first cruiser boat will also be launched in the lake as part of the initiative to boost tourism. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu will inaugurate the water sports activities here in the third week of October. Cruises, jet skies, motorboats and rescue boats have already reached Bilaspur and preparations related to the cruise are being completed, officials said. A technical team of the tourism department inspected the equipment at Mandi Bharari last Saturday. Tourists will be able to enjoy Shikara rides in the lake on the lines of Dal Lake in Srinagar.
