Himachal Pradesh: Himachal Pradesh is likely to receive heavy rains for three consecutive days starting today. The Meteorological Department issued an orange alert of heavy rains in four counties on Sunday, eight counties on Monday and three counties on Tuesday.
The orange alert applies to Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur districts today, the orange alert applies to Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts on Monday and the orange alert applies to Shimla districts, Mandi and Sirmaur. The orange alert level applies till Monday. These areas may receive heavy rains once or twice in the next three days.
There will be no break from rain till July 5.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be no break from rain in the state till July 5. An orange alert was issued till June 2 and a yellow alert was issued from June 3 to June 5. Therefore, locals and tourists are advised to remain alert.
Prime Minister warned
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Suhu has advised tourists and locals to avoid traveling to high altitudes, landslide-prone areas and near rivers and streams. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), along with the monsoon, the western disturbance is also intensifying. Due to this, heavy rain is possible in the next three days.
Monsoon hits strongly in three districts
Monsoon has hit strongly in Una, Shimla and Solan districts of the state. Heavy rains occurred in Shimla and Solan on Friday evening and heavy rains occurred in Una district on Friday morning. Due to this, 9 vehicles were damaged in Shimla. A house in Shimla’s Chaloti also became unsafe due to landslide. Then it was evacuated.
