Himachal Pradesh: National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteer Latu Kumari, a student of Government Post Graduate College, Chamba, was felicitated by Principal Dr. Madan Guleria at a brief ceremony held at the college on Tuesday. She was presented a memento for her participation in the seven-day National Integration Camp (NIC) 2025 held at Dharampur in Valsad district of Gujarat. District Nodal Officer of NSS, Professor Avinash Pal said that the camp gathered NSS volunteers selected from various universities and colleges of India. He said that this year two volunteers have been selected from Chamba district.
This NIC, held from June 27 to July 3, provided a platform to the volunteers to participate in various activities like speech competition, diya decoration, invitation card making, poster making, folk dance and folk singing. Latu impressed everyone with her enthusiastic participation and brought laurels to her college and district. Organized annually by the NSS Directorate, this camp promotes national integration, cultural exchange and community participation. Latu was part of the 11-member team representing Himachal Pradesh and has become the first volunteer from Chamba district to be selected for this prestigious event. Dr Guleria congratulated the volunteer for her outstanding performance and also appreciated the efforts of NSS programme officers, Professor Avinash Pal and Professor Santosh Kumari for their guidance and mentorship.
