Himachal Pradesh: The auction process for minor mineral mines in Bilaspur district concluded successfully on Friday under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Om Kant Thakur in Bilaspur. A total of 11 identified mining sites were auctioned during the session, seven of which were auctioned for ₹3.46 crore. Om Kant Thakur stated that of the 11 mines approved for auction, seven were allocated to the highest bidders for a period of one year, including a 25 percent advance security deposit, amounting to ₹86.53 lakh.
He stated that all participants strictly followed the guidelines set for transparent allocation of mineral resources. Highlighting the importance of this process, Thakur emphasized that such auctions play a vital role in ensuring the proper utilization of mineral resources and boosting mineral production in the district. He stated that these transparent auctions will promote the development of the mineral industry, strengthen the district’s economy, and create new employment opportunities. District Mining Officer Harvinder Singh elaborated.
